Fortified Minds PLLC

Telepsychiatry & Telehealth Mental Health Care

Secure virtual psychiatric care designed to make evaluations, medication management, and therapy easier to access from home.

Mental health care without the commute

Telepsychiatry allows you to meet with a psychiatric provider through a secure video appointment. For many patients, virtual care makes it easier to stay consistent with treatment, attend follow-up visits, and fit mental health care into work, school, caregiving, and family responsibilities.

Fortified Minds PLLC offers telehealth psychiatric services across Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and New York, subject to provider availability and applicable requirements. In-person services are also available in Virginia.

Services available by telehealth

  • Psychiatric evaluations for concerns involving mood, anxiety, attention, sleep, thought processes, behavior, and other psychiatric symptoms.
  • Medication management including follow-up, response assessment, side-effect monitoring, and treatment adjustments when clinically appropriate.
  • Therapy services focused on coping, resilience, emotional well-being, and symptom management.
  • Ongoing follow-up to review progress, treatment goals, functioning, and next steps.

What you need for a telehealth appointment

A reliable internet connection, a private location, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone are generally sufficient. Choose a space where you can speak openly and safely. Your provider may also ask you to have current medication information, pharmacy details, recent vital signs, or relevant medical records available when needed for safe treatment planning.

Is telepsychiatry right for everyone?

Telehealth works well for many routine psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits, but it is not the right setting for every situation. Some concerns may require in-person medical assessment, laboratory testing, urgent evaluation, or a higher level of care. Your provider may recommend in-person or emergency services when clinically indicated.

If you are experiencing an immediate emergency or believe you may be at risk of harming yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than waiting for a telehealth appointment.
